Push Ups For 5 Challenge

What is this?

  1. Do as many “perfect form” push ups as possible in 5 minutes (take as much rest as you need between bouts of push ups, you don’t have to stay in the push up position the whole time).

  2. Write down how many you got.

  3. Do this 3 times a week for 4 weeks.

  4. Accept compliments from your mom about your newfound upper body strength

Wait… But Why?

Ain’t no better resistance training exercise to do, that can be done anywhere, at any time.

I love this challenge because it’s i) easy to track ii) takes very little time, and iii) progress is nearly guaranteed.

*TIP: Keep your form consistent from each session to the next.*

It’s easy (and tempting) to sacrifice form to try to “beat” your previous score.

I get that desire… I’ll die for progress.

But if you change your form (in a bad way) to allow yourself to pump out a few more reps… did you really make progress?

Who are you trying to trick? Yourself?

Don’t do that. That’s stupid.

How do I track this?

Easiest way is on your “notes” app on your phone.
